CPM, cost per mille, is the price of one thousand views. It is the standard unit for comparing distribution channels, because it strips out campaign size and lets you compare a $2,000 buy against a $200,000 one on equal terms.
Enter any two values below and the third is calculated.
OCRO rates for reference
| Campaign type | CPM | Per million views |
|---|---|---|
| Music & sound placement | $0.20 | $200 |
| Logo placement | $0.25 | $250 |
| Clipping campaigns | $2.50 | $2,500 |
| Meta / TikTok in-feed (typical) | $20 to $40 | $20,000 to $40,000 |
How to use CPM sensibly
CPM tells you what reach costs. It does not tell you what reach is worth. Two campaigns at the same CPM can differ enormously in value depending on audience fit, whether the views are real, and whether the placement is native or interruptive.
Before comparing vendors on CPM alone, ask each one how views are verified. A $0.50 CPM against unverifiable numbers is more expensive than a $2.00 CPM against per-post reporting you can audit.
